UK-PHMES CSCS registration cards are available for all trades in the plumbing industry. What card can I have?

What card can I have?

UK-PHMES CSCS registration cards

Cards are available for all trades and related occupations in the plumbing industry. Your card depends on your qualifications and your occupation.

Blue cards are for operatives with a full NVQ2 or equivalent. Gold cards are for operatives with advanced qualifications – NVQ3 or equivalent

Cards are also available for Labourers, Supervisors, Managers, Site Visitors, Apprentices, Trainees and Students.

Note: City & Guilds Basic Plumbing Studies 6128/6129 are not acceptable for a Blue or Gold card.

To be issued with a registration card you must be able to show that:

  • You have the relevant qualifications, either UK or overseas.
  • You have passed a Health & Safety Test, or an approved course with a Health & Safety module. Health & Safety tests and exemptions »
  • You are working in the Plumbing Industry, or are an apprentice or trainee.
  • You must be working or training in England or Wales. If you are working in Scotland or Northern Ireland you should contact the The Scottish & Northern Ireland JIB

Applicants for registration do not have to be directly employed. You may be self employed, an agency worker or unemployed. Please Note: in these cases you will be asked to provide details of a company who can vouch for your work.
