2022/23 has seen the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Joint Industry Board for Plumbing Mechanical Engineering Services (England and Wales).
As part of activities to mark this, the Board Chairman, John Allott has been visiting long-standing JIB-PMES participating employers and presenting them with commemorative wall-clocks. The picture above shows John (right) along with JIB-PMES Board Member, Alastair Green from Dalkia.
Commenting on the anniversary, John said: “We are proud that the JIB-PMES has reached this milestone and that the JIB-PMES Board continues to facilitate the National Working Rule Agreement and to promote the benefits and advantages of high-quality employment terms and conditions.”
John continued: “JIB-PMES employers are ‘Gold Standard’ employers, who commit to high quality employment terms. In return, they benefit by being able to recruit and retain the best staff.”
Alastair Green, JIB-PMES Board member and Head of Industrial Relations at Dalkia added: “We see a number of benefits of having operatives working under the National Working Rule Agreement, not least that it provides surety and clarity in terms of costs and expenses which allows our organisation to tender confidently for future work. Working in accordance with the provisions of the agreement around pension contributions and welfare benefits also demonstrates that our PMES employees are valued and important members of the organisation.”
