JIB for Plumbing & Mechanical Engineering Services England & Wales Goes Smart
The Joint Industry Board for Plumbing Mechanical Engineering Services in England and Wales (JIB-PMES) are pleased to announce that Smart Technology has been introduced on all the JIB UK-PHMES CSCS Grading and Registration card.
The change brings with it a whole host of added benefits for both cardholders and employers.
This will not affect any cards already issued but the new format cards will contain a chip which stores information on the cardholder’s identity, qualifications and training.
By introducing a smartcard employers will be able to check both the validity of cards and the qualifications held by simply using a card reader, pc, smart phone or tablet device.
The JIB-PMES has worked hard to ensure that Plumbing, Heating Mechanical Engineering Services is at the forefront of the adoption of smart technology and by using the JIB UK-PHMES CSCS Smartcard it will give employers across the industry a way in which they can access information by using this technology.
In line with recommendations by the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) by 2020 all construction workers and professionals will be using smart technology to gain access to project sites.
The cost for the new JIB UK-PHMES CSCS Smartcard will be £35
Current non Smart JIB UK-PHMES CSCS registration cards will remain valid until their expiry date. However, with effect from the 10th April 2017 we will only accept Smartcard Application Forms
