Apprentice red card
JIB-PMES CSCS APPRENTICE RED CARD:
VALID FOR UP TO 5 YEARS
Eligibility
This card confirms that the holder is registered on a recognised apprenticeship, and has either passed a Health, Safely and Environment test or completed the appropriate qualification Health and Safety units within the apprenticeship programme. This card is issued to apprentices as follows:
- Those without prior experiences who are registered on a recognised industry apprenticeship and are employed in the plumbing and mechanical engineering services industry.
- Adult learners who have experience of similar work in other industrial sectors, which their employer believes suits them for training for employment in the plumbing sector and who are registered on an industry recognised apprenticeship – but who have not yet achieved the relevant qualifications.
Prior to the issuing of an Apprentice card, applicants must either:
- Provide evidence that they have completed the appropriate Health and Safety units from the apprenticeship programme.
or
- Provide evidence of passing the CITB touch screen health, safety and environment test or an approved one-day safety course (please contact the JIB-PMES to ensure the course is approved).
Plumbing and Heating Fitter apprentices engaged through the JTL Managing Agency should contact JTL who issue registration cards for their apprentices.
Fees
The standard card fee is £20. Cards are FREE to members of Unite the Union and employees of participant companies whose company is purchasing Holiday Credits or Welfare Benefits on their behalf.
If you are applying for a free card, please download a copy of the application form and submit your application either by email or hard copy. We cannot accept online applications for free cards.
Standard turnaround:
Applicants should receive their cards within 28 days of receipt of a correctly completed application form and payment of fee.
Fast track turnaround:
Designed to return cards within 4 working days of receipt of a correctly completed application form and payment of fee.
Fast track rapid processing is an additional £60 (total fee of £80 for Apprentice red card applications)
Note on postage: If you have ordered a card from the JIB-PMES and have not received it in the post, please allow 1 calendar month before ordering a replacement. This allows any cards which may still be in the Royal Mail system to be returned to us as undelivered. This does not apply to fast track applications.
