JIB-PMES CSCS registration cards
Cards are available for all trades and related occupations in the Plumbing and Mechanical Engineering Services (PMES) sector. The type card that is issued will depend on an applicant’s qualifications and their occupation.
Blue cards are intended for operatives with a full Level 2 NVQ Diploma or equivalent qualifications. Gold cards are for operatives with advanced qualifications – Level 3 NVQ Diploma qualifications or equivalents.
Cards are also available for Labourers, Supervisors, Managers, Site Visitors, Apprentices and Trainees.
Note: City & Guilds Basic Plumbing Studies 6129 or 6035 Diploma qualifications are not acceptable for Plumber Blue or Gold cards.
To be issued with a JIB-PMES CSCS registration card, applicants must show that they:
- Have achieved relevant qualifications for the card being applied for
- Have passed an appropriate Health, Safety and Environment Test, or completed an approved course which provides exemption from having to sit the test
- Are working in the PMES sector
- Are residing in England or Wales. If you are living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you should contact the Scottish & Northern Ireland JIB (SNIJIB).
Applicants for registration do not have to be directly employed. Applicants may be self-employed, agency workers or unemployed. Please Note: In these cases, applicants will be asked to provide details of a company who can vouch for their work and technical ability.
