JIB-PMES announces the introduction of Online Health, Safety & Environment test
The JIB-PMES is pleased to announce that from February 2023 it will be offering its own online Health, Safety and Environment test aimed specifically at operatives working in the Plumbing, Renewables and Mechanical Engineering Services sector. As the test will be available solely online it is designed to work alongside the long-standing CITB HS&E test for Plumbing Specialists which remains available at Pearson Vue and CITB Internet Test Centres...
CSCS Smart Check app
The new CSCS Smart Check app , developed by the 38 card schemes which display the CSCS logo (including the JIB-PMES), is set to radically improve the construction industry’s card checking procedures and site safety. The roll out of the app begins in April 2022 and covers more than 2 million CSCS and partner scheme cards across all 38 CSCS Partner Schemes. Changes to JIB-PMES Manager card application criteria
The application criteria for the JIB-PMES Manager black card changed from the beginning of November 2020. Industry Accreditation is no longer permitted in support of these cards. JIB UK-PHMES Grading
The purpose of grading is to ensure that plumbers, domestic heating fitters and mechanical pipefitters are suitably recognised for the trade skills and qualifications they possess.
The responsibility for operative grading has now been taken by the UK Plumbing, Heating & Mechanical Engineering Services Registration Scheme (UK-PHMES). This is the first time that Grading in England & Wales has been harmonised with Grading in Scotland & Northern Ireland.
